| The main objective of the Financial Sector Technical Assistance Project of Kosovo is to enhance the Central Banking Authority of Kosovo's (CBAK) capacity to oversee the financial system's stability and its development in Kosovo. The project will focus mostly on strengthening the capacity of the CBAK to supervise banks and non bank financial institutions (in particular insurance companies and pension funds). The overall implementation progress rating and the development policy operation (DPO) rating are now 'moderately satisfactory', in view of the slow pace of disbursement of the project. The counterpart has committed to accelerate the project implementation as procurement systems and teams are now fully operational. The extension is necessary to use the increased capacity of the Borrower and achieve the project development objective. | ||||
