Assisi Aid Projects is a member of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) and adheres to the ACFID Code of Conduct which defines minimum standards of governance, management and accountability of development for non-government organisations (NGOs). Complaints relating to a breach of the ACFID Code of Conduct can be made to the ACFID Code of Conduct Committee. For more information see www.acfid. asn.au. Assisi is an Australian AID accredited agency and therefore complies with DFAT policies. Assisi does not have any religious or political affiliations or proselytize. Assisi’s approach to community development has evolved over the 40 years of working with disadvantaged communities. Our success is due to our commitment to supporting tangible, practical and most importantly, self-sustaining initiatives in disadvantaged communities. Assisi works directly with communities, particularly women, to alleviate poverty through initiatives such as Self-Help/Savings Groups, micro-enterprise and educational, health and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) services.
