Economically deprived groups viz. Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes & other people belonging to backward communities constitute 94% of total population of the project area. Agriculture is overwhelmingly the main source of livelihood for 97% of the total families who depend on cultivation or wage labourer.The agriculture is surprisingly mono-cropped which solely depends on rain water. Full time employment in agriculture is available only 3 to 4 months in a year. Rest of the year the young generations have to migrate to other parts of the country in search of employment & livelihood. The most pitiful incident is that the young people return from their brief sojourn affected by various contagious diseases which lead them to gradual death as also maul their family members.Vision is Upliftment of weaker and underprivileged segment of society through proper utilization of indigenous resources & thus to make a self-reliant society. VPBK envisages a society economically productive & equitable, socially just, environmentally sound & genuinely democratic. Objectives of VPBK
1. To strive to promoting education for the children hailing from destitute families
2. To aware the people regarding their rights, duties & responsibilities for the society.
3. To provide preventive, promotive & curative health care service for the people in general & women & children in specific.
4. To empower the rural women through micro-finance & micro entrepreneurship development programme.
5. To impart vocational training for rural youth with a view to make them self-supportive.
6. To an initiative for appropriate rehabilitation of the persons with disabilities.
7. To provide support to the vulnerable elderly person materially & emotionally
