What we do?
We have been guarding the right to information since 2003. We perceive them not only as a condition of a good state, but above all as one of human rights that protects human dignity, gives freedom of expression and security against abuse of power.
We strengthen citizens' feeling that they have the right to find out how the authorities and public institutions function, as well as influence their decisions and the way of managing public property (including tax money). We teach how to do it effectively. In situations where the offices do not respect citizens' rights, we provide legal assistance.
Over the years, we have gained reliable knowledge about access to public information, civic control and co-determination of citizens about public matters. By providing legal advice, we had the opportunity to learn more about thousands of specific cases, we participated in several hundred cases at the stage of court proceedings (a significant part of winning). Every year we participate in several dozen meetings with residents of towns and villages scattered throughout Poland. Thanks to this, we know topics that are interesting to us both from the perspective of the capital, in which regulations are created, as well as small centers where this right is applied (or not).
