Our mission is to network, promote and build innovative initiatives of popular and social movements fighting for economic, social, political, cultural and environmental rights. Alternatives wants to strengthen citizen action and the contribution of social movements in building sustainable societies.Alternatives knows that another world is possible by building sustainable societies in which environmental rights, democratic rights and the dignity of peoples are respected. This belief is based on the commitment, experience and values of Alternatives members and the social movements to which they belong. Together, since our creation in 1994, we have seen the positive and fruitful results of hundreds of initiatives in more than 35 countries, carried out in partnership with numerous social movements and allies, more than one thousand trainees, countless volunteers and a dynamic and dedicated team.
