Kalyana Shira Foundation

Kalyana Shira Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in October 2006 on the basis of the concern of the founder and its members on women's issues, gender, children and other marginal groups. The founders of Kalyana Shira Foundation are film workers who have actively engaged in and worked since the post-reform era in Indonesia and became part of filmmakers who have contributed to the reviving of domestic cinema and the appreciation of the Indonesian people towards Indonesian films. His works include Ca Bau Kan, Biology of No Strings, Arisan, and Share of Husband that always touch on themes related to the lives of Indonesian women.
Through wide screen works and audio visual works, Kalyana Shira Foundation wants to contribute in providing information, reviving the media of expression for women, children and marginalized people who still have not gotten a place in Indonesian films in general. Enhancing the empowerment of Indonesian women through the production and screening of quality films with themes related to women's welfare. Provide support in strengthening democratic and humanitarian values through films and other audio-visual media. Helping create equality to improve the welfare of the people left behind through films and other audio-visual media. Increase public awareness to respect differences (and eliminate discrimination) through films and other audio-visual media. To actively support the development of Indonesian cinema, by providing opportunities for potential human resources to use other film and audio-visual media.
Facilitate the production and distribution of films that promote gender equality, life welfare, democracy and humanity, especially those directly related to the lives of Indonesian women.
Facilitating and organizing activities related to films, such as film festivals, filmmaking workshops & training, and film screenings in public places and alternative places.
Facilitating and organizing joint production and collaborative projects in films with various institutions and organizations at home and abroad.
