The Institute of Research and Applications of Development Methods (Iram) has been involved since 1957 in the field of international cooperation. Today, Iram is an associative research bureau combining high-level independent expertise and ethical commitment . The Iram Association was born in 1957, in full independence of African countries and the emergence of developing countries on the international scene. Through it, its founders (including Henri Grouès dit Abbé Pierre, Yves Goussault and Henryane de Chaponay) were committed to promoting the rural in the construction of these new States. It is the idea of a "commitment in society" that founded the first years of Iram, which has since been formalized by a charter. Since the association was structured as an associative research office. Iram's activities are guided by its strategic document "The Iram Project" developed jointly by its employees and members of the association.
