Individuals, communities and government leaders use our data to better manage limited resources, reduce economic risk, and improve well-being. Since we were founded in 2003, we’ve been striving to bring Ecological Footprint data to the world. We believe that policy making for sustainable development is blind without knowing how much nature we have and how much we use. But governments and institutions move slowly, we’ve learned. To strengthen Ecological Footprint accounting, and broaden its reach, we recently launched an academic network in partnership with York University in Canada. Once the academic network is up and running, Global Footprint Network can double down on outreach and movement-building for one-planet thriving. The task is enormous and more pressing than ever. And we largely depend on you, our visitor, to help us.
