KATRIBU Kalipunan ng mga Katutubong Mamamayan ng Pilipinas (formerly known as KAMP) is a national alliance of regional and provincial indigenous peoples’ organizations representing various indigenous communities in the Philippines.

KAMP was first convened as a consultative assembly in 1983 to provide an alternative forum where tribal leaders belonging to the then 6.5 million indigenous population in the Philippines may meet to share and discuss their problems and experiences.

KAMP as a federation was formed in 1987 after a series of national consultative assemblies of tribal leaders that culminated in a “Sandugo” (one blood) pact in 1984. The formation of a national indigenous peoples’ alliance is the indigenous peoples’ response to the worsening violations of their individual and collective rights and the impending threat of massive dislocation posed by large-scale “development” programs of the government. Since then, KAMP has strived to work for the attainment of genuine ancestral land rights and self-determination for the indigenous peoples.

 

In its 3rd National Congress in March 2015, the council members and members of KAMP decided to change the name of its national formation to KATRIBU Kalipunan ng mga Katutubong Mamamayan ng Pilipinas, to which all the indigenous peoples groups identified with.

KATRIBU Kalipunan ng mga Katutubong Mamamamyan ng Pilipinas is composed of more than 500 indigenous peoples’ organizations that cover local networks in the provincial, municipal and barrio levels. It has four (4) regional formations in Luzon: Cordillera Peoples Alliance (CPA), Bigkis at Lakas ng Katutubo sa Timog Katagalugan (Balatik), Central Luzon Aeta Association (CLAA), and Punganay-Cagayan Valley; one (1) in Visayas: Tumandok nga Mangunguma nga Nagapangapin sa Duta Kag Kabuhi (TUMANDUK); five (5) in Mindanao: PASAKA Regional Confederation of Lumad Organizations, Kahopongang Lumad sa Halayong Habagatang Mindanao (KALUHHAMIN), Kahogpongan sa Lumadnong Organisasyon (KASALO), KALUMBAY Lumad Organization in Northern Mindanao, and Salabukan Nok G’taw Subanen (SGS). It also has two (2) island-wide organizations of indigenous peoples, Kusog sa Katwahang Lumad or Kalumaran, a Mindanao-wide alliance of Lumad organizations, and HAGIBBAT, a Mindoro island-wide organization of Mangyan organizations. National indigenous women’s organization (BAI) is also part of KATRIBU’s national council.
