Established in 1972, Global Health Council (GHC) is the leading membership organization supporting and connecting advocates, implementers and stakeholders around global health priorities worldwide. The organization is the collaborative voice of the global health community on global health issues; it convenes stakeholders around key global health priorities and actively engages key decision makers to influence health policy. Currently, Global Impact serves as the Secretariat for GHC.

Mission

To improve health globally through increased investment, robust policies and the power of the collective voice.

Vision:

They envision a world where health for all is ensured through equitable, inclusive and sustainable investment, policies and services.

GHC is working with the U.S. government and other global bodies on behalf of its members to influence global health policies and resource allocation decisions. GHC is building on the organization’s history, profiting from lessons learned, and taking new directions suited to an evolving environment and the changing needs of its members. Currently, the emphasis is on responsiveness and accountability to the membership, accompanied by consistent, transparent dialogue with members.

GHC’s programming and events are currently supported by the following individuals: Elizabeth Kohlway, Communications & Member Engagement Manager; and Danielle Heiberg, Advocacy Manager.

The Secretariat of GHC is Global Impact, which provides the organization with additional operational services. The leadership team for the Secretariat is Scott Jackson, President and CEO and Ann Wheatley, Vice President, Partner Solutions. GHC is also supported by the following Global Impact staff: Mark Milligan, Managing Director, Finance; Kathleen Lowenthal, Senior Director; and Amber Muradali, Manager.
