Cambodia English School of Higher Education Organisation (CESHEO) is a registered NGO which operates as a school that focuses on teaching English to children from all social economic backgrounds. Beneath this façade however, with a little time spent its clear to see that the term school is an understatement. To some of these smiley students this school is more of a safe house where they are welcomed, clothed, fed and offered a much needed place to sleep. Currently the school is surviving off volunteer run classes and volunteer built infrastructure however the director Rady Rure's vision hope to see the school self-sustainable in the new future. Run by local man Rady, CESHEO is a home for many local neglected children as well as foreigner volunteers who are opting for a unique experience to give back.
Founding CESHEO
The Cambodia English School of Higher Education Organisation began in the humble household of Rady Rure, the charity’s first ever teacher and founder. As more children in the village heard about Rady’s English class and the confines of his living room space were pushed to its limits, a formal classroom was built and the first school was opened in 2010. Since then, CESHEO has provided free education to over 750 underprivileged students living in the impoverished countryside of Siem Reap.
Mission
The school is run to EDUCATE the children in English. This will enable the students to gain employment in the thriving tourist projects in Siem Reap.
The school FEEDS students and homeless children breakfast and lunch 7 days a week as they have no other source of food.
The school attends to the HEALTH needs of the children at the school.
The school also has a major aim of providing LOVE AND AFFECTION for the children especially for those without parents. This is achieved as volunteers interact with the children over a number of weeks.
