Since 1973, Acting for Life has put the issue of territorial economic development at the heart of its action through the implementation of territorial projects aimed at strengthening the economy of rural or indigenous communities, the level of skills and the creation of value at the local and regional level. It works to permanently overcome poverty and provide the poorest people with decent living conditions.

Many developing countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia suffer from underdevelopment, corruption, lack of public investment and the adverse impacts of international competition. Acting for Life aims to support local organizations to develop sustainable models and build solutions to the problems of poverty , mobility and climate change .

To achieve this mission, and well beyond the logic of emergency punctual aid, Acting for Life focuses on four areas of intervention to contribute to the emergence of local organizations with appropriate responses to the challenges of exclusion :

Improve access and management of production resources  : enable people to access the resources available on their territory to produce and generate economic activity;
Support market access for local communities by developing production and marketing systems: Strengthen value chain functionality, local value creation and the commitment of the authorities to the defense of local and regional productive organizations;
Strengthen training and socio-economic integration  : support training and support structures to bring out new skills that the local economy needs to develop;
Promote sustainable tourism development  :  maximize the benefits of the economic benefits of tourism for the benefit of local populations.

Acting for Life enables the implementation of viable and sustainable projects and supports the development of local actors, the networking of southern partners, stakeholders essential to the development and sustainability of actions carried out everywhere on the ground. 

Since 2002, Acting for Life has been recognized as a public utility , a mark of recognition and guarantee of the relevance and transparency of our actions by public institutions.
