Humanitarian Development Consortium (HDC) is a non-profit, non-political organization established in February 2008. Their programs are directed at refugees, returnees, vulnerable host communities, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in South Sudan. HDC strives to facilitate people-centred development programmes and to support livelihoods and create opportunities for marginalized and disadvantaged peoples.
HDC occupies a unique position among NGOs in South Sudan in that we bridge the gap between humanitarian organizations, which are emergency-focused, and development organizations, which might find it difficult to respond quickly in times of crisis. In bridging this gap, HDC's goal is to link relief, rehabilitation and development.
