Affirmations provides a welcoming space where people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and cultures can find support and unconditional acceptance, and where they can learn, grow, socialize and feel safe.

The Welcome & Resource Desk is the hub of Affirmations' programs and services.  Whether you’re looking for additional services and support, a visitor to our great city searching for LGBTQ-friendly businesses, or a young professional seeking opportunities or training.

-Community Spaces

Affirmations is proud to serve as Michigan's largest LGBTQ community center and one of the 10 largest LGBTQ community centers in the country.

-Community Activities and Events

Affirmations' Allan Gilmour and Eric Jirgens Community Center is host to a number of activities and events -- providing opportunities for fun, friends, and fitness to the metro-Detroit LGBTQ community.

-Health and Wellness

Affirmations works to address LGBTQ health disparities by improving the health and well-being of LGBTQ individuals and communities in southeastern Michigan.

-Support and Discussion Groups

Affirmations offers a broad range of general discussion and support groups, social activities, and camaraderie.

-Youth

As a young member of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning community, you may face unique issues and challenges. Affirmations provides a safe environment where you can socialize with peers, find support for coming out, participate in career and leadership programs, and find the confidence to just be you.

-Pittman-Puckett Art Gallery

The Gallery is an exhibition and performance space intended for the presentation of work by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender artists. Available to established and emerging artists, especially those whose work speaks to or about the LGBTQ community, the Pittmann-Puckett Art Gallery is a space for artists to exhibit and sell their work. The Gallery features comfortable seating perfect for conversation and quiet contemplation.
