CBM transforms the lives of people with disability, their families and communities in the poorest places of the world.  Through the network of local partners CBM support more than 700 projects.

In 2014, CBM reached out to more than 32 million people who were living with or were at risk of a disability 

CBM works in over 70 countries to provide the kind of medical help that transforms lives - restoring the gift of sight, straightening twisted limbs, and making sure CBM keep young mothers and babies safe during childbirth. CBM also makes sure to be on the ground to provide immediate aid in times of emergency and give long-term support when it's needed. 

Through the community-based rehabilitation (CBR) programmes, CBM is working to help communities to equip themselves with skills in the prevention and treatment of disease, and community education and rehabilitation so that people with disabilities can be included into their society as equals and lead a fuller life.

CBM always works in partnership with local organisations, and CBM provides an important advocacy link to their local and national governments so that people with disabilities are included in all aspects of development and community life.

CBM is an active member of the Vision 2020: Right to Sight and the WWHearing initiatives. The work of CBM is recognised by the World Health Organization (WHO), with which it holds consultative status.

At CBM, the Christian values remain at the heart of everything that CBM does; CBM believe that every person counts.

CBM works in the most disadvantaged communities, irrespective of race, gender or Spiritual Beliefs. CBM respects the religious beliefs and practices in the countries where CBM operate. The work is open to all people with disabilities regardless of age, gender, religion or race. 

CBM UK was launched in Cambridge in 1996, and is a member association of CBM International.
