Welbodi Partnership

Welbodi Partnership is a UK-registered charitable organisation based in Freetown, Sierra Leone. They have been working since 2008 to improve the quality of health care women and children receive. They believe that increased access to quality healthcare will improve the health of women and children in Sierra Leone. They are embedded in health facilities where they work with local partners to catalyse improvements in care delivery. They undertake coordinated capacity-building with stakeholders on multiple levels, from policy and leadership to management and clinical training. Welbodi Partnership also engage with community beneficiaries to ensure that women and children are empowered to seek care appropriately and hold the health system accountable for improved outcomes.

The Welbodi Partnership is working towards a Sierra Leone where all children are living healthy and fulfilling lives with complete and fair access to professional healthcare.

Their Mission is to improve the quality of healthcare for children and mothers in Sierra Leone through the provision of education, training, infrastructure and management support. They work with partners, the government, clinics and hospitals, the communities that they serve and mothers and families to promote a healthcare system that is sustainable and locally-led.

The vision of the Welbodi Partnership is that of a Sierra Leone where all children are living healthy and fulfilling lives with complete and fair access to professional healthcare.

Child health is one of the world’s most pressing development challenges, enshrined as one of eight United Nations Millennium Development Goals: to reduce child mortality by two-thirds by 2015. Welbodi Partnership believe that the work to support quality paediatric care will contribute to meeting these goals by saving the lives of hundreds or even thousands of children in Sierra Leone each year, and by building a stronger, more effective paediatric health system for future generations.
