Rural Assistance Center (CAR) is an non-governmental organization working for over 10 years in rural development in Romania. CAR was founded by the Open Society Foundation Romania. Its mission is to offer assistance for sustainable and participative development of rural communities by increasing their individual and institutional capacity to manage their development resource.
CAR is a member of the national networks and European SON - Soros Open Network Romania; RuralNet - Network of organizations active in community development and PASOS - Policy Association for an Open Society.
Objectives:
To stimulate and encourage a pro-active attitude of rural communities towards sustainable development
To develop strategic, sustainable and efficient partnerships
To disseminate stories of success and failure regarding rural development
To develop specific methods and tools for rural development
