ASNAPP stands for Agribusiness in Sustainable Natural African Plant Products. ASNAPP is an NGO with the primary goal to develop successful African agribusinesses in the agriculture sector, providing income, employment & development, through environmentally and socially conscious practices to produce high quality products for local, regional and overseas markets.

The ASNAPP vision is to expand economic opportunities for rural communities by using world class science, technologies, partnerships and business approaches to develop and enhance Africa’s competitive advantage in the Natural Plant Products industry.

ASNAPP is currently partnered with 25 agri-enterprises, representing over 2 000 small-scale farmers on the continent. While broadening agribusinesses and stimulating entrepreneurship among small-scale rural farmers remains a goal, ASNAPP's vision is to move local communities up the value chain and improve their livelihoods. 

ASNAPP is currently active in South Africa, Ghana, Rwanda, Senegal and Zambia, and has satellite projects in Angola, Malawi, and Mozambique. ASNAPP’s activities in the African horticulture sector have seen it forge market linkages with various private and public entities regionally and abroad. ASNAPP uses these market linkages to improve small holder and emerging farmer participation in the formal sector economy, enhancing their ability to capture value and improve their livelihoods. 

ASNAPP is a co-chair the South Africa Dutch Horticultural Business Platform which aims to strengthen and modernize the horticulture sector in RSA. The platform includes private businesses, knowledge institutions and government.

ASNAPP is a contributor and organizer of the Under Cover Farming Expo which has been hosted for the past 2 years in Pretoria. The expo serves as a platform for growers (emerging and commercial), input suppliers and relevant experts of the Greenhouse industry to network and exchange knowledge.
