Barrio Taller is a private organization, based in Bogota, Colombia. Since 1990, it has worked on contributing to the development of housing policies and programs in the outskirts of the city. It orients its services to the fields of architecture, urbanism and social consultancy.

Barrio Taller, thanks to the experience of the professional team on which it depends, has the capacity to develop plans, programs and projects related to the field of mass housing and urban development. Likewise, it also pursues endeavors in the areas of research and publications related to urban development.

Barrio Taller can act as consultant and manager of urban projects of social interest, including the processing of subsidies, proceedings for the purchase of land, and construction of homes. Our services in this area are oriented to mass housing organizations and other entities that promote housing and urban development.

Barrio Taller also offers services to municipalities and other government institutions in the assessment, formulation and execution of projects involving territorial ordainment and the legality of neighborhoods.

Barrio Taller’s research and editorial staff promote and develop research that contribute to debate on a wide array of present-day urban problems. Their work includes periodic publications such as Ciudad y habitat and Espacio y Sociedad.

• Take an active part in discussions on housing policies in Bogota and elsewhere in the country.

• Formulate and develop housing projects, while providing comprehensive advice to the urban poor.

• Perform research that contributes to critical reflection of contemporary urban problems.
