Agri Service Ethiopia

Agri Service Ethiopia is a non-governmental and non-profit making organization established in 1969, as a corporate body of INADES Formation, an International Association of Training Organizations based in Abidjan.  ASE has given due importance to training and education ever since its establishment.  For instance, between 1969 and 1976, it provided correspondence education to smallholder farmers.  The overall objective of the training programme was to contribute to the social and economic advancement of the farmers through education.

Operational region
Amhara, Afar, Oromya, SNNPRS, Gambela , and Bensahbul gumruz are current operational areas.

Strategies/thematic areas
Community learning and education-facilitate learning through establishing community learning forums, promoting distance education and radio education programs.

CBI formative and development-facilitating the establishment of grass root farmer-led institution.

Food security-improving and expanding productivity and market successes, income diversification basic social services (health, water supply, alternative basic education

Value chain development – pro-poor smallholder enterprise development through a value chain approach

Climate change adaptation & mitigation - promoting and supporting community based integrated watershed management, capacity building & policy dialogue.

Partnership and networking – initiating, facilitating and supporting public private NGO/CSO partnering and cooperation towards shared vision and goals

Scaling up and out- generating/ verifying, packing and sharing best development approaches and practices.

Mainstreaming – treating gender, HIV/AIDS, population, environment as integral part of policies, programs and individual efforts.

Organizational growth and competitiveness - learning organization that maximizes opportunities through coping with and influencing changing circumstances and emerging challenges.
