The Citizenship Action was born in 1993, forming a huge nationwide mobilization network to help 32 million Brazilians who, according to Ipea, were below the poverty line. 

A social movement that was born in 1993 based on a simple concept: SOLIDARITY, ALL WE CAN.

Between 1993 and 2005, 30,351 tons of food were collected in Brazil, benefiting 3,035,127 families.

Between 2006 and 2010, 2,300,000 toys and 500,000 books were distributed throughout the country.

Created at the height of the Movement for Ethics in Politics, the Action of Citizenship against Hunger, Misery and Life became the most recognized social movement in Brazil. Its main line of action is an extensive mobilization network made up of local committees of organized civil society, mostly composed of community leaders, but with the participation of all social sectors.

Today, 20 years later, the most critical phase of the eradication of hunger in Brazil is underway and the problem has become a priority public policy of the federal government, this valuable national network wants to expand its action towards the guarantee of Human Rights.

The recent movement on the streets of thousands of Brazilian cities clearly indicates that our population wants Citizenship for all. Quality public services, health, education, culture, mobility, respected rights.

There are many forms of hunger. The Action of Citizenship fights all.
