INTERANDES was founded 1979 in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, as an independent engineering, planning and consulting company, focusing in the transfer of technological, financial and human resources between industrialized countries (specially Switzerland) and developing countries (specially in the andean region in South America). The fields of work encompass the realisation of rural development projects of the type "technical assistance", in the mountain and forest regions of Peru, financed since 1983 mainly by municipalities and cantons of Switzerland and the International Technical Cooperation. Swiss companies also contracted the services of INTERANDES to carry out market studies for the introduction of capital goods for agriculture (machines and equipment) and alternative energy supply (photovoltaic systems).
