Trias is a Belgian development organisation active in twelve countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia. Trias supports 580,000 entrepreneurs through more than 80 local partner organisations. Entrepreneurs in the South work in smallholder agriculture or are micro-entrepreneurs.

Trias is an acknowledged Agri-agency and member of AgriCord.

Trias presents itself as the entrepreneurial NGO in Flanders (Belgium).

In Flanders, Trias is closely linked to six member based organisations:

-the rural movements Landelijke Gilden, KVLV and KLJ

-the entrepreneurial movements Unizo, markant and Neos

 

MISSION

Trias strives to give small-scale entrepreneurs and family farmers in the South and their organizations a more solid means of sustenance, and aims to promote worldwide exchanges and cooperation between individual and organized farmers and entrepreneurs.

In the North, Trias works towards a better understanding of inequality and different values, and to an enhanced commitment of its specific target group to North-South relations and international solidarity. Trias has broken its mission down into one general and five strategic objectives or goals. 

 

WHAT WE DO

Trias supports entrepreneurial people in the South. Trias does this in collaboration with local partners. Those partners determine the result. That's why Trias focusses on a number of core themes: entrepreneurial people need access to loans, support in the management of their business, access to markets and strong organizations who can represent them and make them stronger.

Trias also pays attention to a number of themes throughout all its actions in the field: the power of women, the diversity of people in general, the need of people to make people stronger, so that they can participate in decision making processes and sustainability.
