THEIR MISSION
Humanity First’s mission is to serve disaster struck and socially disadvantaged individuals and families in the poorer communities in the world. They aim to:
-Relieve suffering caused by natural disaster and human conflict
-Promote peace and understanding based on mutual tolerance and respect
-Strengthen people’s capacity to help themselves
THEIR APPROACH
Humanity First serves communities worldwide through various projects by driving fundraising activities, engaging volunteers from local communities and our donor base, and partnering with other organizations with similar humanitarian service goals.
Humanity First is a volunteer based operating organization whose board of directors, management team, and project staff running the day-to-day operations are all unpaid volunteers with diverse professional backgrounds including business, healthcare, and education sectors. This unique strength allows us to direct more than 90% of all funds raised towards the humanitarian projects they pursue. All personal expenses are met by the volunteers to maximize the use of funds raised and donated for those in need.
WHAT THEY DO
Humanity First's mission is to relieve suffering caused by natural disasters or human conflict, promote peace and understanding, and strengthen people's capacity to help themselves. Most of Humanity First's humanitarian projects fall under one of the following two categories; human development and disaster relief.
1. Human Development
Humanity First has focused its non-emergency aid efforts under two major categories:
Health & Medical Programs. Designed to improve the health and medical care of some of the world’s most vulnerable populations.
Education & Vocational Programs. Designed to help create capacity and self sufficiency through providing support for primary education for children, and vocational training for adults in various under-privileged communities in United States and around the world.
2. Disaster Relief
Humanity First has been responding to disasters in various parts of the world. It maintains a vast pool of volunteers in the US and many other countries (through its sister HF operations) in six continents. By working with and assisting local authorities, communities can be helped in a cost effective way with their immediate and long term needs after disaster.
