HRC is a French association created in April 2004 by professional legal experts in order to publish reports on the situation of fundamental freedom - civil and political rights and economic and social rights.

HRC reports are confidential and are intended to assess a given by international and national standards situation. HRC is addressed to States, intergovernmental organizations, but also to businesses.

 

Activities

HRC takes into account these realities and thus offers three types of services:

 

A risk assessment of "human rights", upstream of an investment or an establishment in order to provide a comprehensive overview of the situation of human rights in a country or region, and measure the full risk of such an operation.
 
An impact study on human rights, downstream, when it comes to make a field visit to assess the impact of a project or a location in a country / region.
 
A conformity study to measure the gap between the principles contained in the internal documents of the company's social responsibility (UDHR, including ILO conventions) - and reality (as the internal reality of the business and including the rights of workers and the external reality of the business: location policy, relations with suppliers and the various "stakeholders" ...).

 

 

Each of these studies may focus on a particular sector (wood, oil, textile etc.) on particular types of rights (social rights, rights of indigenous peoples etc.), or specific issues (implementation in a militarized area, use of suppliers in developing countries etc.).
