Hepatitis Victoria is the peak not-for-profit community organisation working across the state for people affected by or at risk of viral hepatitis.

They work to:

Raise awareness and prevent the transmission of viral hepatitis.
Increase access and referral to quality information, care, treatment and support.
Provide leadership and coordination for the community response to viral hepatitis.
Offer a number of programs for individuals and organisations that promote well-being, educate and increase the capacity of others to respond.
Influence the government, media and other agencies in relation to a stronger response to the challenges of viral hepatitis in their community.

Their history of supporting the hepatitis community began in 1992 when the first support group met.

In 1993 Fairfield Hospital provided an office for the Hepatitis C Foundation of Victoria.  In 2007 their name changed to Hepatitis C Victoria, and then in 2011 to Hepatitis Victoria, encompassing all viral hepatitis. 

With more than four Victorians dying each week, hepatitis is an urgent health and economic concern. Hepatitis Victoria undertakes a range of initiatives to advocate on behalf of people affected by viral hepatitis.
