Visualizing Impact (VI) is a laboratory for innovation at the intersection of data science, technology, and design. VI creates impactful tools highlighting critical social issues around the world.

• Breaking new ground in socially aware data science, technology, and design.

• Mainstreaming marginalized perspectives on critical social issues.

Strategic Objectives

1.Apply technology and visual tools to address social issues in creative ways.

2.Spread VI visual and technological tools virally to mainstream audiences.

3.Provide journalists and change makers with Creative Commons visual tools that advance a factual, rights-based narrative.

4.Position VI as a trusted, reliable source for information about critical social issues.

5.Develop mass and niche market products to further disseminate information on critical social issues through consumer demand. 6

.Position VI as an innovator in the global design and technology community.

7.Develop a sustainable, scalable social enterprise characterized by an effective team, an efficient management system, and a robust financial model.

The interdisciplinary VI team is based in Beirut, Lebanon, with additional bases in Amman, Ramallah, and Dubai.

To date, VI visuals have been featured on more than 20 media outlets, including Fast Company, Huffington Post, Wamda, Al Jazeera, Daily Star, and the Guardian. VI has also collaborated with dozens of local and international organizations.
