Bierley Community Association Ltd runs The Life Centre, a community centre in the heart of Bierley housing estate in the BD4 area of Bradford. They have been in the community for many years though have gone through various changes over the last couple of years to ensure they are providing a good quality and accessible service that meets the needs of the neighbourhood.

The Life Centre offers a wide range of activities and services each day of the week, partnering with experienced external agencies to provide: Benefits advice, Counselling, Sports sessions, Zumba, Gentle exercise for the over 60s, Asda Bus Run, Book and Movie club, Various youth projects and clubs, Kids clubs, community lunches, Friday Friends, access to computer suite for job searching, internet browsing and document writing. The rooms and hall are also available for hire for private parties, council surgeries etc.

As you can see they try to provide something for everyone to improve their circumstances. The vision is “working in partnership to bring the community together – creating hope, realising potential and changing lives”. They hope that through accessing the services members of the community will improve their health and well being through building friendships, sports and exercise, developing skills and finding a listening ear.
