The North Islington Law Centre was established in 1972, when it was set up to meet the needs of the local community.  Following the closure of the South Islington Law Centre, it changed its name and area of benefit, and in 2000 they became the Islington Law Centre.

For many years they were based on Hornsey Road and had shop front premises there.  However, as demand for the services grew, we took on additional offices over the road, until these too were outgrown.

In 2012, the opportunity arose to move to the  current offices at 38 Devonia Road, which provide much better facilities for clients, and have enabled  the Centre to extend the volunteer team and range of services.

The Law Centre has been part of a dynamic voluntary sector in Islington for over 40 years, and they are delighted to have the opportunity to work in collaboration with a wide range of agencies across the statutory, voluntary and private sectors.  Islington is a vibrant, diverse borough and the Law Centre is proud to play a role in ensuring that there is access to justice across the community.
