Vision
Impunity Watch strives for societies in which state and society respond effectively to serious crimes and gross human rights abuses through redress and recognition, where a culture of human rights and rule of law prevails, and where impunity is no longer accepted as the norm. They believe that an integrated approach that guarantees victims’ rights to truth, justice, reparations and non-recurrence provides the foundations for peace and security.
Mission
Impunity Watch conducts research into the root causes of impunity and obstacles to its reduction that elevates the voices of affected communities to produce research-based policy advice on processes intended to encourage truth, justice, reparations and the non-recurrence of violence. They work closely with victims and civil society organisations to increase their influence on the creation and implementation of policies for tackling impunity.
