The Zambia’s Scholarship Fund began in 1999 when Peggy Rogers (founder and president) went to Zambia, to visit a friend she had met twenty years earlier in Utah. To say she was not prepared for what she saw and experienced would be an understatement. “When she returned home my mind raced with ways she could or should help. Then she remembered every Zambian mother, it was always the same, “Oh Madame you are an American can you help my children go to school?” Of course, being a mother of 5 myself,  she totally understood. What future would my children have if they could not read or write?” Thus we began by helping ten students. 

From there they evolved to helping in the high schools, in the elementary schools, sending books, computers, treadle sewing machines, providing jobs, building schools and rebuilding old existing schools. Needless to say, the need is great but if you look at their accomplishments and goals you will see what a difference countless sponsors, countless volunteers and countless big heart-ed people have done to change the lives of thousands in Zambia.
