Women Solidarity for Peace and Integral Development (Solidarité Féminine pour la paix et le développement Intégral) (SOFEPADI)
Constituted by the law number 004/2001 which organizes the ABSL (non profit-making Association) and establishment of public utility in the DRC, having a legal personality number 201 / CAB / MINJ / 2006 of June 23, 2006, the SOFEPADI (Women's Solidarity for Peace and Integral Development) was created on April 2, 2000 by community radio presenters called CANDIP / ISP Bunia (Center for Animation and Pedagogical Diffusion) to answer questions of promotion and defense of the rights of women and children and to involve women in the search for peace in Ituri.
Following the various wars known in the Province Orientale, the women victims of the exactions were abandoned to their sad fate; this motivated the organization to engage in caring for women and girls who are survivors of sexual violence and other forms of violence or gender-based violence.
