The Resolution Project Inc.

MISSION

The mission of the Resolution Project is to develop socially-responsible young leaders and empower them to make a positive impact today.

VISION

The vision of the Resolution Project is to create a generation of leaders with a lifelong commitment to social responsibility.

OUR MODEL

Resolution has a proven model for identifying and inspiring young leaders through our Social Venture Challenges (“SVCs”) and Resolution Fellowships:

We collaborate with existing youth conferences.
We invite undergraduate students attending these conferences to propose social ventures through the SVC.  This is a multi-stage competition, combining web-based submissions, live rounds of presentations, and due diligence.
We award Resolution Fellowships to those young leaders with the most compelling personal leadership characteristics and promising social venture proposals.
We support our Fellows with dynamic, hands-on mentorship, seed funding, and access to world-class global advisory resources from our dedicated team of volunteers and Guides.

The impact of activating potential young leaders through social entrepreneurship is inspiring; they become engaged early in making positive changes in the world and the character of their leadership is infused with social responsibility.

OUR STORY

The Resolution Project was founded by a group of young professionals who had attended youth leadership summits as university students and had been frustrated with being the “leaders of tomorrow.”  Resolution’s founders believe that university students have the energy, idealism and will to solve some of the world’s most persistent and challenging problems, and should be leading today.

Resolution was founded in 2007 to develop and empower young leaders so they can pursue socially-responsible solutions to issues affecting communities around the world.  We designed our Social Venture Challenge(“SVC”) to be an inspiring call to action for university students with an idea for a social venture and we created the Resolution Fellowship to be an ecosystem of support to help them implement their idea and develop as socially-responsible leaders.

Resolution initially partnered with Harvard World Model United Nations (“WorldMUN”), an annual youth summit, which brings together more than 2,000 young leaders from around the world.

We hosted a simulated SVC at WorldMUN’s 2008 conference in Mexico to test the concept.  The response from conference attendees was overwhelming and more than 50 teams participated, so we returned to WorldMUN’s 2009 conference in The Hagueready to award the first Resolution Fellowships. Resolution has since hosted SVCs at WorldMUN conferences in Taipei in 2010, Singapore in 2011, and Vancouver in 2012.

In 2012, we began partnering with other youth conferences and universities around the world to bring our SVC and Fellowship to more young leaders and broaden our impact.  Today, there are over 150 Resolution Fellowson six continents working on ventures addressing issues ranging from basic needs, food, development, education, energy and the environment, health and wellness, equality and empowerment, and humanitarian relief.
