Iftiin is non-profit organisation created to tackel the lack of education in rural area of somalia by supporting young children to go to school and succeed,and empowering young children to step up as leaders of change.

IFTIIN exists to empower communities, local institutions and individuals to realize their full potentials. Provision of primary health care, education, clean water, agriculture and livestock development, humanitarian assistance, gender balance improvement, and capacity building in local institutions.

IFTIIN Education & Development is non profit, non-political, and nongovernmental organization which was established to alleviate the symptoms of poverty, illiteracy and backwardness through empowerment of the Somali community with education and knowledge and as well the rehabilitation of the collapsed economic infrastructures.

Vision

Their vision is to provide a learning environment that is stimulating and challenging for children who do not have the financial means to access education. Enabling them to develop knowledge and practical skills to reach their full potential which will create a wider range of choices for their future.

Iftiin Strategy

Iftiin empowers local communities, institutions and individuals to achieve the economic and social development of Central Somalia. Iftiin does this through providing training and education so as to create the skills necessary for infrastructure development, a diversified economy, a health care system and a civil society in Central Somalia.

Their Objectives

- Provide pathways of free education, that offer children and young people the opportunity to study and take professional qualifications in their home region
- Eliminate illiteracy in the region through sustainable and accessible basic education and vocational training for both males and females.
- Maintain awareness among local communities of the benefits of education, especially as regards educating girls
- Co-ordinate all Iftiin projects with the work of local and international organisations ensuring resources are used efficiently with multiplier effects.
- Build new buildings and rehabilitate empty buildings to create permanent infrastructure for Iftiin’s projects with local communities.
- Attend to the wider issues of clean water, primary health care and food security and ensure that even the poorest students are able to attend school
- Contribute to humanitarian and relief projects to maintain the health and secure accommodation of young people especially, so that they can attend school when the crisis has passed
- Raise community awareness and build community capacity for decision making, good governance and a more resilient society
