In March 1996, a group of mothers who breastfed their babies were invited to participate in a seminar called the Breastfeeding Mother Support Group. In addition to recognizing more about breastfeeding, this group of mothers is more aware of how to use personal experience, heart and care to help mothers and their loved ones in need to solve breastfeeding problems. In addition, the public and relevant persons (such as the Government, health care staff and the private sector) can also reflect the obstacles women face in order to continue breastfeeding. I hope that the Government and the community can pay more attention and support to breastfeeding.

In view of this, the enthusiastic mothers organized and established the Hong Kong Breastfeeding Mothers' Association, which promoted breastfeeding and childcare activities on a voluntary basis, and registered as a community, and also won the Central and Western District of Hong Kong Island. District Council members generously provided the office as the mailing address of the Association.

The club's funding is due to the contribution of the community and the rapid development of the conference. This Council was facilitated to be registered as a limited company in November 1997 and formally became a charity in May 1998. The work of breastfeeding is more extensive, lasting and systematic.
