   Education: Master’s degree in urban planning, social sciences or equivalent.

• Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience in informal settlement upgrading program, with a participatory approach, and preferably with a focus on co-design/co-built/co-managed investments.
• Strong knowledge of informal settlement upgrading policy with a track record of community development plans in Africa.
• Experience in engaging with national governments, Local government, international institutions and CSOs involved in settlement upgrading in Africa.
• Experience in project reporting on urban sustainable development, or related fields in Africa.
• Experience working with local stakeholders and facilitating hands-on engagement. Extensive professional engagement and relationship cultivation, public relations, and/or political experience, including liaising with local leaders and settlement representatives.
• Understanding of gender and climate issues in informal settlements.
• Languages: Written and oral proficiency in English. Proficiency in Kiswahili is highly desirable.
